Maharaja Chhatrasal (May 4th, 1649 – Dec. 20th, 1731 AD) was an early modern Indian warrior king from the Bundela Rajput clan who fought against the tyrannical Mughal Empire for 60 years of his life and established his own kingdom called Bundelkhand.
From age 22 and until his last breath at age 82, he fought 252 wars, including 52 major ones, won them all, eventually bringing down the Mughal empire in India.
This is one heroic story of his life.

In the year 1717 (1606 AD), during a big ritual of worshiping the Bundela clan’s family deity (Kul Devi) at the temple of Vindhyavasini Devi, a Mughal commander came to attack the idols. Chhatrasal, who was in a nearby garden for flowers with his friends. When the commander asked them to show direction to the temple, they didn’t reply knowing their malicious intention. The Mughal came down from his horse and slapped a child so he may speak up. Upon seeing this misbehavior, Chhatrasal swiftly took out his sword and pierced into the Mughal’s stomach and next, he sliced his head separating from the trunk.
As other Mughal soldiers fled away, Chhatrasal, holding a basket of flowers in one hand and the severed head of the Mughal leader in the other, walked towards the temple. The arriving Bundeli soldiers and everyone else was stunned seeing the little 10-year-old Chhatrasal in a warrior’s role. The public and both the parents were very happy to learn about the masculinity of Chhatrasal.
महाराजा छत्रसाल (4 मई, 1649 - 20 दिसंबर, 1731 ई) बुंदेला राजपूत वंश के एक प्रारंभिक आधुनिक भारतीय योद्धा राजा थे, जिन्होंने अपने जीवन के 60 वर्षों तक अत्याचारी मुगल साम्राज्य के खिलाफ लड़ाई लड़ी और बुंदेलखंड नामक अपना राज्य स्थापित किया।
22 वर्ष की आयु से और 82 वर्ष की आयु में अपनी अंतिम सांस तक, उन्होंने 252 युद्ध लड़े, जिनमें 52 प्रमुख थे, उन सभी में जीत हासिल की, अंततः भारत में मुगल साम्राज्य को गिरा दिया।
यह उनके जीवन की एक वीर गाथा है।
वर्ष 1717 (1606 ई।) में, विंध्यवासिनी देवी के मंदिर में बुंदेला वंश के कुल देवता (कुल देवी) की पूजा के एक बड़े अनुष्ठान के दौरान, एक मुगल कमांडर मूर्तियों पर हमला करने आया। छत्रसाल, जो अपने दोस्तों के साथ फूलों के लिए पास के बगीचे में थे मुगल अपने घोड़े से नीचे उतरा और एक बच्चे को थप्पड़ मारा ताकि वह बोल सके। यह बदतमीज़ी देखकर, छत्रसाल ने तेज़ी से अपनी तलवार निकाली और मुगल के पेट में घोंप दी और फिर, उसका सिर धड़ से अलग कर दिया।
जब दूसरे मुगल सैनिक भाग गए, तो छत्रसाल एक हाथ में फूलों की टोकरी और दूसरे हाथ में मुगल सरदार का कटा हुआ सिर लेकर मंदिर की ओर चल पड़ा। वहाँ पहुँचे बुंदेली सैनिक और बाकी सब लोग 10 साल के छोटे से छत्रसाल को योद्धा की भूमिका में देखकर हैरान रह गए। जनता और माता-पिता दोनों छत्रसाल की मर्दानगी के बारे में जानकर बहुत खुश हुए।
