Questions which we ask the UPA Government

1. What have you done to counter the report of The International Food Policy Research Institute’s Global Hunger Index (GHI) estimate ranks India at a low 66 out of the 88 developing countries?

2. What measures have you taken to tackle drought which affected half the country?

3. Why are you unable to counter the deadly Price Rise which is killing thousands and affecting millions?

4. Why have prices of most essential commodities increased by over 200% in your rule?

5. How many black marketers have you arrested and put in jail?

6. Have you taken definitive steps to wipe out the corruption in PDS?

7. Why do prices increase immediately after your food minister declares a scarcity?

8. Who has increased the prices of Petrol by Rs.4 per litre and Diesel by Rs. 2 per litre, leading to further price hikes?

9. Do you care for the steep hike in numbers of BPL families?

10. Why do you pass on the buck to State Governments when you frame policies?

11. Who has cut down on the allocations of foodgrains in the rationing system upto 73 per cent, weakening the public distribution system and thus creating more dependence on the market?

12. Who permitted futures trade in many of the essential commodities allowing speculation and pushing up prices?

13. Who permitted the export of sugar under pressure of the sugar lobbies leading to a shortage today?
14. Where is your so called FOOD SECURITY LAW?

15. Under this- For both BPL and Antodaya card holders the quota will be cut by 10 kg per family from the present 35kg to 25 kg. Who will benefit? Certainly not us!

16. You propose food grains at Rs 3/kg. Hence, Antodaya benefits will be eliminated and Antodaya card holders who at present are getting food grains at Rs. 2 per kg will have to pay one rupee more

17. No foodgrain will be allocated for APL sections. Not only will the APL subsidy be eliminated but even the APL category will be cancelled.

18. While quotas are being cut, the number of ration cards will also be cut. Ration cards are given in many States either to nuclear families or even to individuals. Now it is proposed by the Congress President’s note that ration cards should be given to “joint family comprising all adults and children who eat from a common hearth and reside under a common roof.” Thus a larger number of people will have to share the reduced quota of 25 kg , if this is accepted as the norm.

19. Why has there been no inclusion or extension of the Antodaya to “priority groups” identified by the Supreme Court like the aged, infirm, disabled, destitute; pregnant and lactating women, widows and other single women with no regular support and primitive tribal groups?

20.Why is the present UPA government actually proposes to completely do away with the Antyodaya and subsume it under the BPL category asking them to pay higher prices?

20. Who is responsible for fall in production of food grains?

21. Why the Government imported wheat at prices higher than it was prepared to pay Indian farmers?

22. Why have you the Government completely neglected the production of millets, or coarse grains like ragi, bajra, jowar which can be grown in dry areas?

23. Why do Lakhs of Farmers face problems due to Spurious and High Priced Pesticides
24. Why are the hands that feed the nation are today forced to take their own lives in large numbers.? This is not a natural calamity but government created crisis

also i saw on Aaj tak on 17th feb there are 30 godowns full of processed and raw sugar (material imported by sugar cos) at kandla with 110 lakh tonnes of sugar lying since 6 months.
ARE THEY WAITING FOR PRICE TO RISE FURTHER?

  2. Total annual reqmnt of India is 230 lakh tonnes and with these 110 lakh tonnes and the buffer stock, this crisis would have been averted.

  3. Import-export Manipulation

    48 lac ton exported in 2008-09 @ Rs.12.50/kg.
Now importing Raw Sugar @ Rs.36/kg

Govt. gave Export & Transport Subsidy to Exporters.

Why govt. did not create buffer stock of Sugar ?

Prices up from Rs 22 to Rs.45 to 50/kg in one year.

  4. I think all your questions are never going to be answered.Let alone this govt. All govts, post Independence, have been living off the people.Let there be a inquiry into assets of all politicians, particularly those of the Congress and Sh. Pawar known to be worth more than a thousand crores individually. Why should hundreds of crores of public money be spent on the Gandhi family, what is their contribution to this nation. All political parties are guilty of lining their pockets, at the expense of the population. Why do different Govts persist in continuing with Colonial Laws, just because it suits them and enables them to subjugate the people and label anyone raising his/her voice against police and administrative atrocities as a terrorist/Naxalite/ Maowadi.

Rate of Onion can break a govt. and price rise in almost each and everything couldn't raise even a voice from BJP.

post Atal ji, this party seems to be finished. No thinking, no hard work. Completely missing. While Soniya and Rahul have turnaround the congress and fellow like me who is die hard fan of BJP has voted to Congress this time.

  6. Our PM and FM only talk of 9% growth. Does it have any meaning when a common citizen in general and a poor citizen in particular are paying so much while their wages have barely increased to keep pace with the price rise.

Why is the daily wages offered oficially in NREGA (Rs. 100) much less than the min. daily wages which is around Rs. 130?

  7. Unless Ruling parties take drastic measures to contain black money, remove corruption and make persons holding position of power and bureaucracy accountable, India shall continue to suffer. Present education without moral values and ethics is only producing endless debates and causing confusion amongst poor.
There is need for selfless leaders like Baba Ramdev who can help to create another revolution and bring about reforms.

  13. Root-cause of all these are unbridled corruption and greed. No party in power whether in states or at the centre have made any attempt to uproot them. Unfortunately, people have become victims. Whichever party comes to power will forget all the questions raised. Asking questions is easy whereas providing solutions is not.

  14. yes--GOI and council of ministers are only talking about gross macro economy and not grass roots-they say situation would ease in a couple of months,by which time the common man-so called aam aadmi ,especially BPL families would have died of starvation-the oft repeated rhetoric by top officials from finance secretary to head planning commission are just waiting and watching-what I dont know-probably filling up the private coffers of the agri minister!-even the recent Union Budget had nothing to offer in this regard

  19. In India the kind of democracy particularly factors influncing voting by the people facilitate Congress to manage the power with the help of unfair and unjustified means succeeding illusion among the people at large. We have well witnessed the Rule of Janata Govt. had controlled the prices up to the desired level by srengthing public distribution system coupled with effective fiscal and monetary steps.
The facts responsible for present price level beyond control are categorised in the following manner.
    1. Management of food grains vide stock handling and public distribution system are handled in such a way as to lead corruption and scams. Vote oriented appeasement does not care of determing support price of food grains. In short the supply against demand of food and cereals is not balanced due to the scams and the negligence to some extant. The detailed facts in this regard were elaborated very nicely by Smt.Shushmaji in parliament debate.
    2. the monetary and fiscal policy of the Government are absolutely irrelavant to the hard core problems like huge disparity in income of various sections, stream of black money and fake money. If we recollect the appeal made by PM to reduce the salaries and perks payable to the big officers and executives of corporate bodies, in very much contrast to PM's appeal his Government released huge amount of salaries and allowance to the organised sectors of all Govt. sections in view of forthcoming general election ignoring the interest of unorganised workers and retired persons. In view of huge over ambitious outlay the Government resort to huge indirect taxes and very small portion of direct taxes resulting heavy burden on the poors with less or no means. The basic appeasement attitude of the Government keeps the Government enggaged mainly for reservation in favour of caste based backward classes, subsidy and tax freedom to farmers, minority(muslims) commission and reservation to women irrespective of their economic conditions. Overall effect of this appeasement policy for votes becomes beneficial to mainly rich people of the abovementioned sections. The poors of these sections come under illusion that they are going to be benefited by the Government policy. By an large this kind of Government performance gives nothing good to the people but leads to high price level of essential commodities, insecurity and chaos deteriorating quality of life

  20. Before Asking questions to the Government we have elected we should ask few questions to ourselves first. The real cause of increase in price of essential commodities is we ourselves. I woulld like readers to give their openion on following questions to be asked to ourselves:
    1. I beleive that root cause of all our problems today is not contributing to population reduction. As a citizen what are we doing to reduce population of our country in general and population density in particular?
    2. What are our contribution as citizens to reduce demands for petroleum fuel. Are we committed t use public transport, pooled use of vehecles, stop unneccessary travel or travel less, prevail upon corporates to employ people from the same locality where the business is located to reduce travel and so on
    3. What is our contribution to reduce wasteful expenditure? Can we stop peforming functions- parties-celeberations (marriage, birthday, aniversary) or do it in a very simple way to reduce people movement on roads and thus save fuel reduce trafic conjetion on roads and thus reduce contribution to global warming.
    4. Can we cultivate clean habits and stop spitting on roads, littering, stop using tobacco products, stop drinking, stop wasting precious food items for decorating places of worship, pendals etc or stop using food items for washing (ubhisheka of gods idols) idols of gods instead distribute it to those who are in need and cant afford to buy.
    5. God is in you and in your enemy as well as in friends and neighbour,, so said many scriptures and reformists, then why go to temples to worship or go to Ashrams to find solace and be responsible for stampades, accidents, increase in localised trafic density and population.
    6. Why donate funds to Ashrams and temples and create dead capital, insead why cannot we build hpspitals, schools, rural roads, houses for the poor and needy. Swamies and Archakas only nisguide you to mobilise funds for their enjoyment. Build schools and hospitals instead of temples, build houses for poor and needy or construct roads to connect villages and towns, instead of offering to so called gods and godmen.
    7. Instead of riciting Mantras teach who want to be taught, recite and remember good things and preach universal brotherhood.
    8. Do not allow politician to transfer government employees at his will transfer costs money and transfered employee will not be available for serving you for fewdays of transfered period,
    9. Control your representative in local bodies, Assemblies, and Parliment instead of getting controled by him once elected. he is your servent and not you, his.
    10. Stop fighting with your neighbour even if it means financial loss to you.Try to settler every issue amicably instead of going to court. Courts are nothing but facttories which provide business to lawyers and waste your speciaous time and hard earned money by allowing to prolong cases at will of lawyers and passing judgements based on eyewitnesses in a country where corruption is increasing, people will do anything for the sake of money.

There are so many things which as citizens we can do to reduce wastege of commodities, time and money and divert this for productively for the benifit of ourselves and thus help stablise and improve our economy. We are critisising government after letting them to be ineffective and corrupt. Dont blame others you are the root cause of all this and not others.

  22. Imagine how it would be if Mr.Pawar or Finance Minister or some Mrs.Sonia`s Loyal men answer the Questions raised by RashtriyaSwabhiman.

    1. What have you done to counter the report of The International Food Policy Research Institute’s Global Hunger Index (GHI) estimate ranks India at a low 66 out of the 88 developing countries?

Pawar Ji;BJP and Left is trying to defame UPA by influencing IFPR to come out with such nos in index but they can not hide the Fact that India is NO 1 in Test Rankings and No2 in ODI rankings.

    2. What measures have you taken to tackle drought which affected half the country?

PawarJi :I am not an Astologer to predict such things in advance but I can assure that Mrs Sonia will write off all farmer loans before elections and no farmer would need pay Bank loans whether they will be alive or dead by suicide by then.

    3. Why are you unable to counter the deadly Price Rise which is killing thousands and affecting millions?

Pawar and PranabDa :Price rise is a Global phenomenon and we have to live with that.See our GDP,IIP Stock market Index and Commodity Exchange growth. This is the Price AAm AAdmi has to pay if they want to see UPA`s Growth sorry India`s Growth. Some vested interest blame world Bank/IMF blessed futures trading in commodity exchange is the main reason but they forget to mention that our ToorDhall,MoongDhall etc is being bought and sold on paper nowadays by people who have not even known or seen those dhalls. It is great achievement of UPA and forget not, Media is in our side in this issue.Regarding price rise, people will/should learn to live with that happily after seeng our proesperity sorry India`s prosperity.

    4. Why have prices of most essential commodities increased by over 200% in your rule?
Pwarji:People are very greedy in buying essential commodities which made the prices soar .Also they should wait till the stockists off load if at all they want to buy at their prices.
It is very easy to blame us but we only know the difficulties in satisfying FII/Global funds to make more inflow for share and commodity trading in India.

    5. How many black marketers have you arrested and put in jail?
PranabDa:In globalised world there is no word such as Hoarding or Black marketing. This is legally replaced by Futures,Positions, option and delivery.A clever man blocks stocks and sells at his price when demand is created,if you call it as Black market or Hoarding,I am helpless as I have to presume that you know nothing about Free market economy.

    6. Have you taken definitive steps to wipe out the corruption in PDS?
PranabDa : Yes it is in our Agenda so as to satisfy world bank and IMF to eliminate all subsidy and so to root out all corruption we have plans to do away and wipe out PDS.

    7. Why do prices increase immediately after your food minister declares a scarcity?

PranabDa :May be a coincidence but exactly not.Pawarji`s words are so golden for the F&O segment in commodity exchange who immediately take position (Hoarding?) which pushes prices up.So it is not fair to blame poor PwarJi.It is due to pure economics of Demand and supply even if it is manipulated, as economics is a materialistic science.

    8. Who has increased the prices of Petrol by Rs.4 per litre and Diesel by Rs. 2 per litre, leading to further price hikes?
PawarJi:NCP has opposed this price hike and strongly protested.Even our Shri.Praful patel
personally called on Pranabda to express the deep concerns of CMDs of Private Airlines about Fuel hike which would affect the very rich Air travel people.

    9. Do you care for the steep hike in numbers of BPL families?

PawarJi:Sorry we care for only IPL families at this moment and I Can assure that BPL will be taken care just before elections.
    Also note

PawarJi:We care only about steep hike in earnings of IPL Families.

    10. Why do you pass on the buck to State Governments when you frame policies?

PawarJi :Dont you know that now we are in Coalition Dharma and all results out of our even if wrong policies have to be shared by all even if some are not our alliance parties. State Government `should know to take care of themselves` like we do.

    11. Who has cut down on the allocations of food grains in the rationing system up to 73 per cent, weakening the public distribution system and thus creating more dependence on the market?
PranabDa:Free market economy is the ultimate goal of UPA and our aim is to remove all subsidy (except tax concessions to Corporates and Multinationals)before 2015.Our Economist who are on the pay roll of UPA advise us to dismantle entire PDS system with in fastest time frame possible and to allow FDI upto 100% in retail so that Multinational supermarket giants would take care of all distribution system. Our software and IT companies will get more orders in SAP and network orders and even we have plans for Tax sops for such contracts.

    12. Who permitted futures trade in many of the essential commodities allowing speculation and pushing up prices?

PranabDa:In free Market economy we should know to live with Stock market and commodity exchanges.IMF/world bank do not consider any country`s economy as Economy unless you have exchanges for trading everything especially with Speculation and with out IMF and World Bank no country can exist. So we should be prepared for all speculation even if country get sold.As far as Soaring prices are concerned our pay roll economist and OUR media `resource`fully say it is good for Agri Based economy as farmers might get good prices if they know the tricks. So it is not the question of we permitting and it is the question of Free market economy.

    13. Who permitted the export of sugar under pressure of the sugar lobbies leading to a shortage today?
PranabDa:In normal export import trade, we export the surplus and import the needed one.But in free market economy we should export even if deficit and import even if we have surplus.
Sugar Lobbies felt they could make money while exporting and the same lobby felt to import and distribute when again they smelt money. We can not blame them as they are free to take positions to export and import freely in this freemarket economy and they are not responsible for adverse price movements as that are market driven. But don`t ask who drives the market.
    14. Where is your so called FOOD SECURITY LAW?

PranabDa: Food Security Laws are outdated and need many amendments so that market forces will decide the food security in future and that will have direct index bearing with quantities of Food commodities traded in futures in commodity exchanges. We have plans to allow 100% FDI in starting more such exchanges to make food commodity available on Paper with no scarcity.

    15. Under this- For both BPL and Antodaya card holders the quota will be cut by 10 kg per family from the present 35kg to 25 kg. Who will benefit? Certainly not us!

Singvi: Learn the Austerity measures intiated By Shri.Rahul Gandhi.Card Holders should Learn to live and practice. But do not ask who gets benefitted as ourselves do`nt know. But one thing this sure that may be due to the very great initiation under the guidance of UPA Chair person to do away with PDS system to help the BPL families. Read OutLook It is clearly published.

    16. You propose food grains at Rs 3/kg. Hence, Antodaya benefits will be eliminated and Antodaya card holders who at present are getting food grains at Rs. 2 per kg will have to pay one rupee more.

Singvi:Our Road map is towards Ultimate free market economy and we have time schedule to eliminate all subsidies. Even we have promised the fertilizer giants that they will be compensated in other terms as Urea subsidy is under being withdrawn. Under the guidance of Our Chair person we have many free schemes like NREGS etc to take care of BPL families though it is criticised as` Direct Money for Vote scheme by opposition.

    17. No foodgrain will be allocated for APL sections. Not only will the APL subsidy be eliminated but even the APL category will be cancelled.

Singvi.Where are you living now? as it is the ERA of IPL under UPA and since Country has prospered so much and there would be no takers for the words such BPL/APL etc and NDA should understand this.In fact many more players are selling themselves in auction in IPL and you will have matches 365 days -24/7.This is a clear sign of Indian`s growth story.

PawarJi:We know well that many more fake ration cards are there in circulation and many middlemen with state Government blessings divert food grains into open market after getting it on `Ration prices`.Since it is difficult to take action on state government directly as many are either ruled by our party or by alliance parties, the civil supplies departments are trying to find different ways to divert food grains to open market after allotting in ration prices.

    19. Why has there been no inclusion or extension of the Antodaya to “priority groups” identified by the Supreme Court like the aged, infirm, disabled, destitute; pregnant and lactating women, widows and other single women with no regular support and primitive tribal groups?

Singvi:There is no scientific proof for this allegation as the priority groups are the priority of UPA and all the said section in minority communities are taken care.I don`t have the figure for others.NDA should verify the facts before they talk.

20.Why is the present UPA government actually proposes to completely do away with the Antyodaya and subsume it under the BPL category asking them to pay higher prices?

Singvi:UPA`s dream is to achieve the Market driven economy and all the BPL etc will be taken care just before elections.

  25. continued

    20. Who is responsible for fall in production of food grains?

PawarJi:Drought is responsible for the fall in food production and Drought came because of NDA.Also only NDA will be responsible whenever, whereever or whatever fall in food grain shortage in the past and future.
But UPA has now signed FTA with all small and big neighboring countries and shortfall can be filled with Import and who ever have money can buy and eat and we will not stop that.

    21. Why the Government imported wheat at prices higher than it was prepared to pay Indian farmers?
PawarJi:Minimum Support price,MSP is fixed by Us but import wheat prices are fixed by the market forces.Either we or Indian farmers are not a market force.
    22. Why have you the Government completely neglected the production of millets, or coarse grains like ragi, bajra, jowar which can be grown in dry areas?

PawarJi: it is because we do not have MSP or buy back system for that as our ultimate aim of open market philosophy of ending subsidy does not allow us.(By mistake real hidden reason
has come out since this not a sugar related question)

    23. Why do Lakhs of Farmers face problems due to Spurious and High Priced Pesticides?

PawarJi:To get rid of the problems farmers should go to Monsanto to buy seed and grow GM crops which is made to believe that they do not require any pesticide as it is coming with pesticide inbuilt. Here pesticide gene is free (UPA`s Achivement of free pesticide to Farmers)
and the price of GM seed is based on `demand and market driven`.I strongly advice all Farmers to first try BT Brinjal and by doing so can become millionaire farmers like the ones who did crops of BT Cotton in Andra,Maharastra where today all are millionaires.
    24. Why are the hands that feed the nation are today forced to take their own lives in large numbers. This is not a natural calamity but government created crisis

PawarJi:You mean Suicide? This not due to the crisis created by UPA but by the farmers themselves who listened us.We never asked anybody to commit suicide and we are not responsible for that. You have to think about many more reasons such usuary money lending activities etc.Infact we want them to live atleast till before elections

  26. No answer to all these questions if government cares only the minorities. Recent hike of DA will help only 5 million central government employees who are in the middle to higher middle class. This hike will enrich one by up to Rs. 6000/= per month. Ironically 500 million do not earn even that much in a month as laborers wage is less much than Rs. 6000/= per month.
